  • Center for New Music 55 Taylor Street San Francisco, CA, 94102 United States (map)

Curator Ken Ueno brings Permutations back to SF and C4NM!

Brooklyn trios TIGUE and Concert Black make their West Coast debuts, combining to perform SHELTER, Ravi Kittappa’s improvisatory deconstruction of the Rolling Stones classic Gimme Shelter. The piece saw it’s premiere on permutations092714 at the Dimenna Center for Classical music in NYC. In addition to SHELTER, each ensemble will perform selections from their commissioned and original repertoires.

Permutations is a tangible new music series based in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area founded and curated by Karl Larson (pianist) and Ravi Kittappa (composer). The focus of the Permutations series is to help sustain contemporary ensembles and forward thinking artists of both local and national acclaim, to encourage new works and foster relationships between performers and composers, and to bring a wide variety of contemporary music to a steadily growing audience. Permutations strives to highlight the aesthetic and social diversity of the new music community, and prides itself in presenting performances from a rich array of cultural backgrounds each season.
